The Challenge

The client in question is a public relations firm specializing in middle market corporate communications along with media and green relations training. Due to their heavy emphasis on media coverage, the customer has a much larger than normal data storage requirement related to archiving video and audio press coverage. This client also required a secure infrastructure and security program that at the same time did not limit, viral, chat and RSS feed news monitoring.

The Solution

Swain Techs implemented a distributed e-mail server architecture with a storage array solution that provides for more than 2 terabytes of easily accessible long term data storage. We also rolled out an in-house e-mail security solution eliminating the need for a third party subscription service and removing the administrative time associated with contacting another service provider.

The Results

  • All costs associated with a third party e-mail scanning provider were eliminated.
  • Time associated with creating a new user was cut in half.
  • Users are now protected from external threats by an enterprise level security package that was more cost effective and more efficient to maintain than the previous solution.
  • The client was able to free up nearly 450Gb of active storage space eliminating the constant disruptions associated with network resources being low.
